Not A Liar 3

Text: Luke 19:5

Further Reading: Luke 19:1-9

And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”

Luke 19:5 NKJV

MESSAGE

God meant it when He promised to give those who labor under the yoke and burden of sin rest (Matthew 11:28). Everyone and anyone who believes this promise will be saved. There is no one too bad for God to deliver from sin and adopt in His family.

Even if you are like the adulterous woman caught in a very sinful act, Jesus said He won’t condemn you but give you the power to sin no more (John 8:11). The word of God says, that God will not cast you away no matter who you are.

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
John 6:37 NKJV

Are your sins as red as scarlet? Are they crimson? The Blood of Jesus Christ God’s own Son can cleanse your sin (Isaiah 1:18; 1 John 1:7). This is because God has promised and He will not lie.

Zacheaus in our text and reading of the day was a fraudster, a cheat, and a horrible person as far as people were concerned. It was as if sinners called him a sinner – this could only mean that this man was dead sinful,  yet Jesus went into him and saved him.

The only person who will not receive God’s promise of pardon is the one who rejects God’s offer of salvation. The Bible says anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be delivered (Romans 10:14). It does not matter who such a fellow is, as long as he genuinely repents and turns away from sin.

Those who want the pardon of God as He has promised must simply do what the publican did, he begged for mercy.

And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
Luke 18:13 NKJV

No self-righteousness, all he asked for is mercy.
God is willing to grant you His gift of eternal life as long as you are willing to receive it. God has promised, and He will not lie. Everyone who receives Jesu also receives the right to become God’s children. Have you received Him?

REFLECTION

whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:15 NKJV

God’s promise of salvation is real, they who believe will be saved. Do you believe?

PRAYER

Father, Please save everyone who is still lost in sin. Turn their doubts to Faith in Jesus’ name. Amen.
