God’s Revealed Will 2

Text: 2 Peter 3:9

Further Reading: Matthew 28:18-20

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9 NKJV

MESSAGE

From the Bible, we know that God’s will is not for anyone to perish but that all may come to repentance. Having established this truth, we know also that God’s means of saving men is non-other than the preaching of the gospel. Paul the Apostle declared the preaching of the gospel as God’s power to save men (Romans 1:16).

Do you wonder why Jesus commissioned His early disciples to take up the challenge of preaching the gospel to all creatures? It is because it is the will of God for all true followers of Christ to do. Some may ask, do you mean I have to hold the office of a pastor, or evangelist, or become a full-time gospel worker?

When you are saved, God wants you to be an instrument of salvation for others. He wants you to be a witness of His power and saving grace to all creatures whether in your office, business place, or the church.

To not tell others about Christ is a direct failure to do His will. God is counting on us to help someone out of darkness by showing them to Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life. That is why you as a person must do everything in your power to see that souls are won into God’s kingdom.

Believers can use different methods and approaches to help others learn about Christ. You can write a book, make a film, start a Christian talk show, sing a song, create an animated story, and other means of reaching the world with the gospel message. To not do any of this, is to not do God’s will.

It is God’s will for you to bring other people to the light. If you don’t know who you are, pay attention to what God calls you through this scripture and begin to help bring others to Christ. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
II Corinthians 5:20 NKJV

REFLECTION

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 NKJV

God wants all men to be saved from sin and transformed into new creations. Do you do His will by preaching to the unsaved?

PRAYER

Father, give me the strength and power to always share the good news of Jesus with everyone around me.
