MESSAGE
Do you know that a coward dies not once but many times? He is dead before death even comes. There was the story of a woman who was constantly afraid of burglar night after night until one day a real burglar showed up. The husband of the woman told the burglar, wait here, my wife has been waiting for you for the past years.
One central truth is that most things people are afraid of are not even real. The fear of the unknown has killed many people who otherwise would have lived if they had faced their fears. The Bible made it clear that fear has torment (1 John 4:18). I believe the torment and torture of fear is greater than any other you can ever imagine.
The believer must know that God does not want him to live in this perpetual bondage. This is because God has not given us the Spirit of fear but of power, love, and sound mind. The natural tendency to fear is now subdued by the Holy Spirit in the believer. That does not mean the devil will not attempt to shock us with fear but we now have the shield of faith through the Holy Spirit to fight back.
Think about Gideon in our text and reading of the day. Even though God has given him victory, he was still afraid. Until God asked him to go and check at the enemy’s camp, he would not have been able to know that God has given him victory to deliver God’s people from ghe enemies.
In 2 Kings 7:3-9, the Bible described the story of the four lepers who were starving to death. They could neither go to the city nor the camp of their enemies. If they stay, they will die but if they confront their fears of being killed, they were spared alive. Those lepers suddenly became wealthy overnight because they chose to face their fears and move.
Are you at a crossroads and you are unsure of what lies ahead? Just move on, instead of being too afraid and not moving, trust yourself into the hands of God to keep you on the right track. Even if you are wrong, God is faithful to take off that path and lead you into His desire. But rather than being stranded and stuck, you can move in the direction you feel God is leading you on as long as their nothing of sin on that path.
To stay in one place is stagnation, therefore, move on and let God help you.
REFLECTION
Refuse to entertain fear in your heart and go for what God wants you to do and with God’as help, you will succeed.
PRAYER
Father, please help me scale all fearful circumstances around me from today. I want to move forward.
