MESSAGE
Those who have been bound by fear are nothing but its prisoner. They are bound in their minds by lies and they know it, yet they are unable to face reality. Fear thrives in isolation, it keeps its victim away from where such can get help. I have noticed that fear plays on the mind and keeps a person continuously in a circle without making real progress of any kind at all.
When a man refuses to face his fears, he remains its victim and lawful captive. We know that God sent Jesus to deliver those who are bound from the fear of death and hell.
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Hebrews 2:14-15 NKJV
Until a man receives Christ, such will continue to remain in the bondage of fear.
The guilt of the past and fear of its consequences will continue to hunt a fellow until such finds refuge in the blood of Jesus Christ and He becomes a brand new creature whose old life is now passed away and all things becoming new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Are you sick and tired of being afraid because of your past misdeeds, you need to come to Jesus and face them. Jesus has the capacity to give you a brand new life and make you completely free from sin and the guilt that produces fear.
The woman in our text and reading of the day was caught in adultery and was presented before Jesus. It was obvious that she was afraid that she’d die. But Jesus had other things in mind, He forgave her and gave her the power to sin no more.
This woman became free from the guilt of her sins and now she can walk about without the fear of death because when the Son of God sets a man free, that person is freed indeed from sin and its guilt. Are currently tormented by the guilt of your past and you live in the perpetual bondage of fear? Bring your life to Christ today and He will give you a brand new life and a sound mind.
Christ is extending His invitation to you today to come to Him with your fears, guilt, and sin and He will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).
