MESSAGE
God has no need for the faint-hearted. This person is of no use to himself or God. Such a person can not the Battle of the Lord. That’s why when God is calling a man, He asks such a fellow to be courageous. This is because such must demonstrate the power of God. But how do you demonstrate this power if there is no battle to fight?
How do you convince the world that the Almighty is on your side if all you have is an easy ride? One thing believers must know is that God wants to display His mighty power in the face of humanity to show that the devil is a fraud and that all power belongs to Him.
Never forget that the enemy of your soul is like a roaring lion and he seeking to devour those who of a fearful heart. Except you resist him standing fast in the faith, he will sweep you away (1 Peter 5:8-9)
When God was commissioning Joshua, the first injection He gave him was to be strong and courageous. God knew there is a Jordan to cross and the huge wall of Jericho to conquer. Such a task is not child’s play and must be confronted by a resolute heart.
Such is the journey of every believer on our journey to the new Jerusalem. Did you hear Jesus say in this world we will have tribulations? Oh, Yes, we will have tribulations and challenges but we can trust our God to come through for us.
One way to gain this courage is by paying attention to God’s instruction to Joshua in verse 8.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
