MESSAGE
Whenever God wants to win His battle against an enemy nation, He finds and prepares Himself a fearless man. Such men can face the lion and bear alone without any real difficulties. They are God’s vessel to bring deliverance to His people.
One such instrument in God’s hand was the man we read about in our text and reading of the day. Gideon was once a timid fellow and rightly so too. He was from the least of the least families in Israel. He had no pedigree or qualification to win God’s battle against the Moabites. But God called him, ‘a mighty man of valor’.
What qualifies Gideon to be strong was the presence of the Lord not the person of Gideon himself. Did you notice that the greeting of the Angel began with, ‘The Lord is with you…’. It shows that when God is with us, we can be strong to win against God’s enemies in our days.
We believers should know that if we are truly standing in Christ, we are more than conquerors. This is because our Lord had won for us. So, there is no reason for us to be afraid. As it is written:
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31 NKJV
If you want to remain strong and win all your life’s battles, then you must remain connected to Christ who is the source of our spiritual energy. Those who belong to Christ can walk every day in victory and not be defeated, but those who do not will continue to suffer defeat at the hands of the devil.
REFLECTION
Your strength to confront the enemy is not in you but in Christ. Do well to stay connected to Christ and be fortified by His mighty power.
PRAYER
Father, please strengthen me so that I can confront the enemy of my soul and win through Christ my greatest ally.
