MESSAGE
Joy is an essential ingredient for a successful life. Our world however is filled with sadness, sorrow, and depression. The enemy seems to be fighting to steal joy from families, churches, and society generally. This is because anywhere you don’t find joy, you will find sorrow.
Sorrow is not a positive but a negative emotion that does not give glory to God. They can stem from certain experiences that one has had in the past or what the individual is currently passing through.
The truth is that believers are not exempted from events that can lead to sorrow such as the loss of properties, loved ones, and other valuables. The only difference God gives us joy amid our greatest crisis.
The Joy of the Lord becomes the source of strength so that when many are saying there is a casting down, we will rejoice and say, ther is a lifting up (Nehemiah 8:10).
There are some situations however that seem to be hopeless. Such was the position of Hanah whom we read about in our Bible reading of the day. She was a woman who has endured so much grief. But when she cried her night turned into morning because God heard her cry. Even though your Hanah has wept all night but your Samuel (Joy) is coming in the morning.
God is promising to terminate that which has caused you to weep all night and give you joy instead. Can you trust yourself into the arms of Christ and let Him carry you? Stay away from sorrow and despondence and allow the joy of knowing that you can face tomorrow because of Jesus to fill your heart. Joy is available to anyone who wants it.
