Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.

Psalms 126:5 NKJV

MESSAGE

One of the concerns in the heart of many faithful children of God is that despite following the Lord there seems to be nothing to show for it. In some cases, it looks as if God has called them to shame rather than glory. Who can forget how the same concern rose in the heart of the early disciples, they had followed their Lord and nothing tangible seems to be coming out of their lives.

Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?” So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Matthew 19:27‭-‬28 NKJV

For a man like Peter, it must have been a serious concern. He was told to leave His business in hopes of catching men. Up till that time Peter had caught nothing and looked like an utter failure. His enemies must have been mocking and asking Peter, where is your God?

Such situations can go from being discouraging to heartbreaking. But one thing is sure, God does not owe a man. He will reward in full. The Bible says in Galatians 6:9,

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Galatians 6:9 NKJV

What you are doing for God now may seem foolish, but God who rewards those who diligently seek Him will show up for you. One thing you can be sure of is that you will not be ashamed and your Joy will come.

The picture in our reading of the day is that of a farmer who could either eat his seeds or plant them. He decided to plant it anyways despite the wailing and plea of his wife and children. He, himself must be near tears, but he knew he must sow in tears or there will no harvest. The Bible recorded that this farm will reap in joy.

Are you currently sowing a seed or doing something for God and everything seems not to be working though you have given it your best? Do not worry, because your joy will come. God will come and do for you that which only He can do. He will turn your story around and make all your troubles history.

Jesus never fails, you can trust Him to turn that ugly situation into joy.

REFLECTION

Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.

Malachi 3:16 NKJV

God will open for you a book of remembrance today and your Joy will come.

PRAYER

Father, please open for me a book of remembrance today in Jesus’ name. Amen.
