MESSAGE
In a time when many people are living in confusion, there is a desperate need for the preaching of the gospel not with the wisdom of words but with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. This is because letter kills but the Spirit of God gives life.
who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. II Corinthians 3:6 NKJV
Believers must learn under God’s Holy Spirit to dispense God’s word or else people will remain in their hopelessness and despondency. Since the word of God can change lives, it is also a tool to clear doubts and give assurance to those who hear.
For example, if you are in doubt about your tomorrow or you know some person who is not sure of what tomorrow holds for them, God’s word preached under the anointing of the Spirit can restore the confidence of such fellows and even grant assurance of a better tomorrow.
You can tell that fellow that as long as he is in Christ Jesus, it shall be well with him. Also, his tomorrow will be beautiful (Isaiah 3:10; Jeremiah 29:11). Paul in our text of the day reiterates the importance of God’s Holy Spirit in giving people hope and assurance for tomorrow.
Though the word of God is potent, it must be in the hand of a potent man to be effective. The man handling God’s word must have a smooth relationship with God. He must be able to flee from sin and temptation. Are you such a man? We all must beg God to help us return to the place where we all began.
REFLECTION
The word of God has power when preached in the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER
