MESSAGE
Often we are worried about so many things, especially our loved ones and families. This care takes a huge toll on us emotionally and the loss outweighs the cause or reason. Understandably, parents often worry about their little ones when they are out playing or on a trip. Wives and husbands share a lot of concern about their spouses each day. But how does God want us to react to all of this?
God does not want us to worry or be afraid. He has everything covered. One scripture that we must hold dearly in a time like this when it is increasingly difficult not to worry about safety and other things is found in Philippians 4:6.
Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.
Philippians 4:6 AMP
In more recent times when the livelihood and safety of many are being called into question. We must understand that true safety is of the Lord. Also, we must remember that except the Lord watches over the city the watchmen stay awake in vain (Psalms 127:1-2).
The Bible also taught that God will not permit our feet to be moved because, God who keeps us does not slumber nor does He sleep. We can take refuge in Him because He is also shield. God will preserve and keep us from all evil.
So, why should we be worried, why should we not trust everything into the hands of our heavenly Father who can keep us and all that belongs to us. Anytime your mind wants to stray into worrying about something, just get your mind off it and ask God to take care of it for you. It may look like a very hard thing, but it sure is the best thing to do.
God is the best at keeping things, that’s why we are guaranteed that He will not only keep our feet from falling but also keep us till the end of our journey on earth.
REFLECTION
Only God can truly keep all you have, why not let Him take care of things while you simply rest in His everlasting faithfulness?
PRAYER
Father, please help me to rest in you and keep me safe underneath your everlasting arms.
