MESSAGE
Before God, there is no boasting. A person may boast of his achievement before other men but such a fellow can never say, I have achieved all by my power. The Bible says in Zechariah 4:6 that we would not be able to achieve anything by our ability but through His Spirit.
So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.
Zechariah 4:6 NKJV
Those who trust in chariots and horses rather than in God’s grace often fall but the people who continually rely on grace will never be put to shame. Every believer must acknowledge the truth that he can not get anything but by grace.
John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.
John 3:27 NKJV
Even our salvation is by grace and not by works so that a man will not boast in his works but in the grace of God. This truth humbles us and makes us know that indeed without Christ we are nothing.
Whether you believe it or not, everything has been given to you by grace. Whatever spiritual exercise you can do comes from grace only. It is never about you, it is all about Him. It is the Lord Himself who is at work in us through His grace.
Let us, therefore plead for more grace in our lives. You just do not shy away but boldly approach the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find the grace of God available to help when we needed it the most.
REFLECTION
Grace is God’s gift, therefore abuse. It’s in you, let the grace of God radiate over you. In summary, be humble!
PRAYER
Father, please grant me the perfect of humility in Jesus’ name. Amen
