MESSAGE
The enemy does not attack you when you are well prepared but after the victory. He knows the natural tendency of the human to relax after a major victory. Do you know that believers must be more careful and conscious after a major victory in life and ministry?
Many great men have been pulled to the ground by satan after their greatest conquests. If you look through the Bible, you will see numerous examples of such incidence. Therefore, do not feel secure in yourself but as the scripture puts it, always put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:12).
Although Lot escaped the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, he could not escape the lustful plans of his daughters who made him an incestuous father. The enemy of your soul coming out of a sinful lifestyle as long as he knows he can get you in another way.
The Bible recorded that we must be sober and vigilant because satan who is our enemy is always roaming seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8). The word of God enjoins us to stay alert and resist the enemy by continually putting our faith in Christ.
In our text and reading of the day, we saw that Noah who was a righteous man relaxed are his greatest victory and then the enemy came and attacked. Do you wonder how a man like Noah could get drunk unto nakedness? Well, the enemy finally got him.
That singular act was enough to secure a future doom for his descendants. Beloved, the time after your greatest victory is not to relax or feel comfortable but a time to engage the enemy more. Don’t allow anyone to fool you, you must get ready always for battle because satan is not resting.
This call to continuous warfare is a call to continuous winning. If you want to win continuously then there is no room for relaxing. The time is now!
REFLECTION
Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
Ephesians 5:14 NKJV
Do go out and sleep after your major victory, it will open you up for more attacks.
PRAYER
Father, please help me so that I am not sleeping on my duty post.
