MESSAGE

Yesterday we established that it is important to listen to God’s voice amid crisis. Rather than follow the many opinions of men which sometimes may be injurious, it is best to stand firm on God’s word. Never forget that when God gives His words, He puts the full weight of His personality behind them.

There are so many voices speaking to us in this generation. Social media, music, sports, and other forms of entertainment are out there speaking to our ears. Many people have listened to wrong relationships and marital counsel from people with failed marriages on social media and have destroyed their happy homes.

God wants the believer to turn to His word and promises at the slightest sight of any challenge or difficulty. We know that in God’s counsel is safety, not in any other. We must also learn to take our stand even when pressure seems to arise.

Are you waiting on God for your children and you are being pressured to seek help from the devil? Do not yield! Are you trusting God for marriage, jobs, or any important necessity of life and you are being advised to compromise your faith? Do not bend! The Book of Proverbs 1:10 advises that when sinners entice you, you should say No.

In our Bible reading of the day, we saw Job a man of God stood firm on God’s word. Despite what he considered was a foolish talk by his wife, Job went through his trial with great faith in God. He never questioned God’s love nor did he curse God as he was advised. Thus Job maintains his integrity before God.

You must remember that our God is both the God in good and bad times. He is the God on the mountain as well as God in the valley. Therefore in your hardest of times, when evil days come, you must remember God’s word, or else you will fall in battle.

REFLECTION

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

Isaiah 30:21 NKJV

Those who will keep rising in God must keep hearing His voice irrespective of what the situation around me may be.

PRAYER

Father, please help me hear you always. Guide me Oh Lord!
