MESSAGE
Christ is our perfect example in every aspect of life. When it comes to endurance, He is the perfect role-model anyone can look up to. We all must ask God for the mind of Jesus Christ to start and finish our course with a shout of triumph.
Although Christ knew He was to come and die for the sins of man-kind, yet He was faced by all kinds of obstacles and temptation to push Him away from achieving that goal. Right from the start of His earthly ministry, the devil was on the look out to pounce but Jesus overcame (Matthew 4:1-10).
But the crux of the matter camw when Jesuswas to face death. At this point He had done everything His Father wanted Him to do. It was the point of death. Not because Jesus loved the world of His life but for the first time, He would be separated from His Father.
That was why He begged if it was possible to have the cup pass over Him but also for the will of the Father to be done. In the book of Hebrews 5:7, the Bible described the agony of Christ thus:
who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,
Hebrews 5:7 NKJV
But despite the suffering, Jesus never gave up. He kept His face on the goal. He had His eyes fixed on the crown. Our text of the day revealed that because of the joy set beforr Him, He endured the cross and despise the shame.
Today, the ressurected Lord Jesus is head all principalities and power. He is the one who has all the power in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). He is name is above every other name and by His name salvation is gotten.
Beloved, take your eyes of the pains and suffeing. The glory outweighs the your struggle, don’t give up.
REFLECTION
At the end of the suffering it was glory for Jesus, therefore, learn to emulate Jesus by not giving up but rather finishing your race on high.
PRAYER
Father, please me to keep looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of my faith.
