MESSAGE
Generally when people hear the word mountain climbers they assume they are those who go from mountain to mountains to pray. In this regard we are talkng about people who without excuse have given themselves to seeking the Lord.
They are those who have affirmatively responded to the call of the Lord to leave the plane and come up higher. Such people are like eagles, because they wait upon the Lord. It is impossible for their strenght to diminish because they are are constantly drawing from the Lord. Even when they run they will never faint.
One of the nost remarkable statements made in the Bible about the mountain climber we are reading about today was that in his old age, he was still very much strong.
Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.
Deuteronomy 34:7 NKJV
Mountain climbing is an opportunity to be alone with God. To spend quality time with Him so that He can rub off His glory upon us. Moses was a regular mountain climber, and thus wears His glory.
What mountain climbing will do to us is that it will familiarize us not only to the voice of God but also His ways. Others may see his acts but those who climb the mountain to seek Him will know His ways (Psalms 103:7).
Mountain climbers get to know His secrets. Their intimate relationship will not allow God to hide anything from them. One such man was Abraham of who God said He will not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah without informing him.
Simply put, mountain climbing is art of staying with God alone. It is the place where He broods and breaths on His children. It is also a form of excercise because it requires you to keep coming consistently and faithfully.
Are you a mountain Climber? Do you regularly spend time with Him alone? Think about this and make adjustments where necessary.
REFLECTION
Even Moses the mountain climber was present Jesus was transfigured. God gives double honour to men who stay with Him on the mountain in life and even when they have passed on to glory.
PRAYER
Father, please give me the strenght to always climb the mountain to meet with You.
