Trusting God In Hard Times 6

Text: 1 Kings 17:15

Further Reading: 1 Kings 17:10-24

So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days.

1 Kings 17:15 NKJV

MESSAGE

Another difficult time to trust God us during the famine. In that period when there is nothing to eat and there is no hope for survival. Often we blame the man who upon whose arm the King of Israel lean for his unbelief while we are not any better.

Think about it,  things had gotten so bad in the land that mothers were boiling their children to survive and a prophet claimed that there will be surplus in 24 hours. The best of economist knows that such a prediction is impossible. But God is greater than all economist and He can do the impossible (2 Kings 6:24-33, 7;1-20).

God fulfills His word but the officer died as prophesied. This should tell us that unbelief is a great  sin and God is committed to turning your situation around. No matter how harse the present economic climate is, God will show up for those who trust in Him.

Our text and reading, the Bible told of the story of the woman who trusted in God during a famine. That woman was stupid enough to stake her last meal on God. But that was the wisest decision she ever made because God saw to it that she never lacked anything during famine.

Even when death came knocking at the door of her house, God sent death packing and gave her lasting joy. God will do the same to every one of His children who fully trust Him. When everyone is saying there is a casting down,  you will say there is a lifting up.  You will have abundance because God will take care of you.

Simply trust in the Lord and He will  rescue your life from death And keep you alive in famine.

Psalms 33:19 AMP.  He will also, you will not be ashamed in the time of evil, And in the days of famine you will have plenty and be satisfied.

Psalms 37:19 AMP

REFLECTION

You shall laugh at destruction and famine, And you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

Job 5:22 NKJV

Nothing will shake those who trust in God, not even famine. Do you trust Him?

PRAYER

Father, please supply all my needs during this period of worldwide economic hardship in Jesus’ name.
