Scripture Reference
“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.” – 2 Corinthians 5:18 KJV
Not only has God saved us, but He has also entrusted us with the mandate to bring others into the Ark of Salvation. Everything He has done for us is not for our selfish gain but so that we may reproduce His work in the lives of others.
Too often, we think the ministry of reconciliation—or sharing the gospel—is reserved for a select few. However, Jesus’ command is for all believers: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).
We are all called to this ministry, and there are specific ways we can fulfill it:
1. Pray for Souls
Jesus taught us in Matthew 9:37-38 to pray for laborers to be sent into the harvest fields. We must intercede for people to come to the knowledge of Christ. The Bible assures us in Psalms 2:8: “Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.”
2. Give Towards the Work
Use your resources to support the ministry of reconciliation. Sponsor mission trips, Bible distributions, evangelistic crusades, or other initiatives that lead to the salvation of souls.
3. Live as a Witness
Your life can be a testimony. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Let your Christlike character draw others to Him.
What Next?
Commit to this ministry of reconciliation. Millions are living in darkness, unaware of the light and hope found in Christ. God is counting on you to pray, give, and share the good news.
Will you heed this call?
Prayer
Lord, help me to fulfill my ministry of reconciliation. Let me start with my family and extend to the world. Equip me to pray, give, and live in a way that draws others to You. Amen.
