“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; For his mercy endureth for ever.” –
1 Chronicles 16:34 KJV
We may never fully grasp the depth of God’s mercy until we pause to reflect on how much of it we have received. Consider the many failures in our lives that God, in His mercy, turned into success, or the countless blessings we enjoy simply because He is good to us.
We serve a good God who loves us, shows us compassion, and grants us His mercy. The only reason we are not consumed by life’s challenges is because of His great mercy. As Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us, His mercies are renewed every morning because of His faithfulness.
What should we do?
Give thanks to Him. We must acknowledge and appreciate the mercy and goodness God extends to us and our families. Never forget that everything He does for us is out of His mercy—He owes us nothing, yet He is faithful to provide.
So what?
Cultivate a lifestyle of thanksgiving to God. Even if there seems to be no other reason, give thanks for His goodness and mercy over your life and family.
Prayer
Father, thank You for Your mercy that never fails and for Your goodness over my life and family. Teach me to always have a heart of gratitude, acknowledging Your love and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
