Text: Romans 9:22-23 (KJV)
MESSAGE
Every child of God is a true expression of His mercy. Seeing how God brought us out of sin and in His mercy pardon us once and for all, and then adopt us to be His children.
That God would choose to forgive us who are once disobedient, rebels, and have broken his laws severally should tell us that it is nothing but by His mercy. The Bible says that when we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
Today’s text revealed our previous identity being vessels of wrath deemed for eternal woe and sorrow, but God willing to show his patience forgave us. Rather than bring judgement He allowed mercy to prevail.
Sometimes ago as I sat to meditate upon what my life would have been If Jesus had not saved me – I was in tears. I knew I would have ruined my life, I would have attempted every kind of wickedness known on earth. Thank God He saved my soul by His mercy.
To show us mercy, God went after us as the shepherd went after the lost sheep (Luke 15:4). You will notice how He kept on coming after you until you are saved. Even now as His vessel of mercy He has not stopped tracking you, so as to keep you on the narrow path.
In John 15:13, Jesus said there is no greater love than for a man to die for his friends, but He did a far greater thing for us when He died for our sins. God decided to show humanity mercy when He sent Jesus into the world to redeem us. God will be God even He chose to send us all into Hell, but He has shown us mercy.
We are saved by His mercy and by this He made us His vessels of mercy. Many people with very dirty past life have been drafted into the family of God – such ones will tell you that it is not because of what they did or did not do but by God’s Mercy.
Nothing compares to the life He offers us, a life of victory and peace. In this new life, we are guaranteed His loving banner over our souls to keep us until eternity. That is why I am asking you sinners to turn back from your sinful way and call upon Him for mercy.
You can also become His child and His vessel of mercy.
REFLECTION
God saved us by mercy – Thank Him for His great Mercy.
