Text: 1 Peter 1:3-5 KJV
MESSAGE
In a world where many have lost hope owing to so many challenges of life. Many have been plagued by hardships, sickness, and disease – they have lost hope for recovery and survival but this morning the mercy of God is bringing hope to those lives in Jesus’ name.
Many today are in great debt and it is as though they would never come out of it, some others have found themselves in more overwhelming circumstances that they feel life is not worth living, so many others are battling depression and hopelessness without any plans in mind to survive.
But what makes a believer hopeful in uncertain times as we live today? His hope is certainly not in our confused politicians and institution leaders but He trust in the mercy of the Lord.
The Bible told us in our reading of the day that the believer can rejoice because he has a living hope. Praise the Lord! This was because of the abundant mercy of God. It is the hope that makes them not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in their heart by the Holy Ghost. (Romans 5:5).
If this were to be hope for this world alone one might not have so much cause for joy, but the word of God says, it is an eternal hope which gives an incorruptible inheritance reserved in heaven for the believer. How great is this mercy that bought us? The provision of hope that mercy brought the believer is an everlasting, incorruptible, undefiled inheritance.
I am excited to announce to you, that you are not hopeless, the grace and mercy of God have given you not a dead hope, but a living hope, and God will keep you till the end through all the troubles of life without a scratch.
Believer cheer up, you are not hopeless. God’s mercy has made ready for you through Jesus Christ an inheritance which is eternal. All the blessed promises in the word of God are yours. You can be sure that God watches over you and is keen on helping you.
To the sinner, mercy gives the hope of salvation. The sinner is a hopeless and helpless man in himself and must be aided by mercy to be saved. Every morning God renew mercy upon a sinner, it is another hope renewed for his salvation.
Are you saved? If you’re not, please avail yourself of this hope of eternal life that the grace and mercy of God have prepared for you.
REFLECTION
Why should you die hopeless when you can ask for Mercy? Stop living in sin, you will be forfeiting your mercy. Think about it.
God bless you and have a great day.
