In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
MESSAGE
Our God is the God of the beginning – He is the beginning of all things and certainly the end of all things. The Bible says in the book of Revelations 1:8 that He is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the ending, the first and the last, He is, and was, and He is to come – the Almighty.
By this, we know that God is our source, and He knows our end from the beginning. It is safe to say that He who knows the beginning and the end of our lives knows the middle also, He can also bring us into a new beginning.
There is this illustration of the porter that came to mind, how the porter can decide to remake a particular masterpiece – God is that great porter who can begin something new with your life. Maybe your life is turned upside down, and things seem not to be working for you, you can turn to the God of your beginning to start a fresh chapter in your life.
Your life may be void and empty, darkness may loom deeply upon your soul, discouragement and depression may have overwhelmed you, you may be struggling with your marriage or finances. All you need to do is ask God to give you a new beginning.
God wants to give every sinner also a new beginning. Sin is darkness, God wants to make you a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17). He wants to translate you from the kingdom of darkness and bring you into a new kingdom which is of Jesus Christ in the light.
If you are a believer, you can trust in God’s grace to help you and also the Holy Spirit Spirit of God will brood upon the affairs of your life to bring you into a new phase of Grace and power.
I am sure you need a new beginning this morning, you want an end to all toil and fruitless labour, turn your eyes upon Jesus and He will give you a fresh start. Maybe you also need a new beginning in your spiritual life – a restoration, ask God and He will answer.
The church needs a new beginning, a restoration, and revival. Let us pray that our God who by His power made the heavens and earth will do a quick work in His church and give us a revival.
REFLECTION
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19
God is omnipotent, He can begin a new chapter in your life – ask Him and trust Him for your new beginning.
PRAYER
Father, Please give me a new beginning in every area of my life.
