If The Righteous Is Scarcely Saved

Text: 1 Peter 4:18 NKJV

Further Reading: Psalms 1:4-6

Now “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

1 Peter 4:18 NKJV

MESSAGE

Today’s message is a warning to those who think they can live in sin and get away with it. Never, your sin will find you out. Let not one deceive you, there is a grievous judgment awaiting all those who live and practice unrighteousness.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.
Romans 1:18 NKJV

The only remedy for sinners is to repent and turn to God. The Bible also warns the Christian who thinks he is standing to take caution and watch his inner life closely, lest he also falls. You will see other warnings like those who endured till the end shall be saved, or to him who overcomes.

It is very clear that those who preach that once a person is saved, such is forever saved are deceivers – they are false teachers. Apostle Paul in his letter to the Corinthian Church said, But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
I Corinthians 9:27 NKJV

I hope the word of this great Apostle will echo into our inner ears that the fact that believers must keep working out their salvation with fear and trembling – Salvation is not an automatic ticket to heaven. It may be for those who received it moments before their death but for us who are here, we must keep fighting the good fight of the faith.

Our text of the day shows told us that if the righteous scarcely made it in the end, what is the lot of the wicked? Where will the sinners and ungodly appear? The Bible says that the ways of the ungodly shall perish. The eternal verdict of God over sinners is everlasting shame and contempt (Daniel 12:2).

Sinners cannot keep hardening their hearts to the gospel – it is God’s power to save men. A day will come when sinners would want to accept Christ but it will be too late. Make your ways right with God today, tomorrow may be too late.

REFLECTION

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

1 Peter 4:17 NKJV

The believers must be ready for the coming of the Lord and those who are yet to be saved should accept the Lord today.

PRAYER

Father, please help to make it to heaven at the end of my journey on earth, don’t let all my labour be in vain.
