MESSAGE
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7 KJV). The word of God can not be broken – a man will reap what he has sown.
People who envy others many times cannot pay the price paid by the person they envy. Spiritual and physical success comes at a cost. If you have not paid the price, don’t expect the result and do not envy those who have it.
A studious student, a diligent worker, and a faithful servant of God will all excel in their chosen area of calling. Our God is principled. He rewards men according to their work.
In our previous lesson, we saw that God accepted Abel first. His heart was right and out of the good treasure of the heart, he brought a good offering (Luke 6:45). Abel gained God’s approval and his gift was accepted (Genesis 4:4).
Today’s topic is another question to you: why are you angry? Have you done that which is pleasing to God? Do you think you deserve more than another person? Beware do not allow the devil to trap you in the web envy.
The brothers of Joseph were envious and angry with him. They sold him thinking he would not survive but the Lord kept Joseph and was with him. Remember, they later bowed to him (Genesis 42:6)
With our God is no favouritism but in every nation, He accepts everyone who fears Him and does the right thing (Acts 10:34-35). Cain was angry because he thought God rejected his offering, whereas it was him that God rejected.
You cannot give God above the value you placed on Him. This is a thing of the heart. What place do you give God in your heart? Before complaining and comparing yourself with another person, ask yourself if you have given God the best of your life.
Envy and anger should not be found in you, they lead straight to hell. Rather than being angry with another person, determine to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and might.
God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Envy leads to hatred and anger which leads to murder. (1 John 3:15). Whenever satan brings envy or anger to you, flee! If you have been angry with anyone because you think you deserve more than them, you must repent today.
REFLECTION
Is your work commensurate to the reward you expect? Don’t be fooled, God gives to men according to their works.
PRAYER
