Further Reading: Genesis 24:15-21

And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.

MESSAGE

When you have prayed, relax because God is faithful and will choose for you. Many young people are worried about the kind of spouse God will choose for them. God will give you the best. The Bible says that every good and perfect gift comes from God with whom there is no variableness nor shadow of turning. God also gives liberally and upbraids not (James 1:17, 5).

None can fit your life more perfectly than the one that God chose for you. Ask those who have married in the will of God, they will tell you that there is none better to suit their lives than their spouse.

Because God is far better than our earthly parents, we can be confident that He will give us the best spouse for this journey of life (Matthew 7:11).

In our text and reading of the day, we saw the faithfulness of God in answer to prayer. The Bible says while that servant was still praying, God brought Rebekah. She was more than an answer to prayer. Rebekah the Bible told us was beautiful and virtuous. She was an embodiment of hard work and hospitality. Indeed there could be none better to fit Isaac’s life than the one God brought.

God will bring your own Rebekah or Isaac in answer to prayers. Even if it seems delayed, be patient, He is working out all things for your good. There can be no greater delight than experiencing the favour of God when He brings your spouse.

Dear young friend, God is more interested in giving you the best for your life than you ever desire. Therefore, simply trust in His wisdom and accept His will for you.

REFLECTION

He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

Psalms 47:4 NKJV

God will choose for you the most excellent spouse. He will give you the best life partner because He loved you.

PRAYER

Father, Please chose for me and give me the best marriage partner.
