MESSAGE
There are many names given to men on earth but there is no greater name than the name of Jesus. It is the sweetest and most wonderful name ever. It is the name that brings deliverance and liberation to the oppressed and causes light to shine in the darkness.
The Bible says that the name of the Lord Jesus is a Strong tower of protection and when God’s people run into it they are saved (Proverbs 18:10). No matter how dangerous a community may be, those who find refuge in Jesus’ Name are saved. They are the people the Bible referred to as abiding under the shadow of the almighty.
In our text of the day, the Bible says that the name of Jesus saves men from sin. In Romans 10:13, the word of God further says that any sinner or backslider who calls upon the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved. Such shall be saved from sin, and its guilt and be made a child of God.
Men everywhere in the world are looking for a means to be saved and reconciled back to God. They have tried rituals and religious duty but in vain. Such people will never find the peace they desire from God until they trust and call on the name of Jesus. This is because there is no name given under heaven whereby anyone can be saved but the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12).
In our further reading, we saw how through the name of Jesus a great miracle was performed. The man who was hopeless and condemned to begging by men received great deliverance and freedom through the Name of Jesus.
At every crossroads in life when you have no idea what to do, simply call upon the name of Jesus. All you need to do is pray and ask Jesus to help you.
The name of Jesus is the only name by which we can pray and receive answers from God. Jesus said in John 15:16, whatsoever you ask the Father in my name, He shall give it to you. Don’t forget, you can ask God anything in the name of Jesus and He will answer. Any prayer that will receive the attention of God must be made in Jesus’ Name.
No power or force can withstand This Name. It is the most sacred, Potent, and Eternal name: The Name of Jesus.
REFLECTION
At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.
Philippians 2:10 NKJV
God has highly exalted Jesus and in His name, every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
PRAYER
Shout the name of “Jesus” over any situation in your life.
