MESSAGE
Eternity is so vast that no human mind can ever comprehend it. It is an endless space of time where the immortal soul of man will either rest in bliss or be tormented.
Imagine a man living in torment and never dying. Jesus spoke about hell as a place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13:42). A place of eternal torment and suffering. It is an endless loop of suffering for any unfortunate soul.
After escaping the condemnation of sin through salvation, the saint must work out his salvation with fear and trembling. He must keep checking whether he is still standing in the faith or not (2 Corinthians 13:5). No stain must be allowed to be on our garment – Christ would only present anyone without a spot, wrinkle or blemish to His Father.
The subject of Eternity becomes so serious that through the Scriptures there is an emphasis on enduring to the end. Jesus said that only those who endure to the end will be saved (Matthew 24:13) – this implies nothing must be allowed to hinder you on your journey to heaven.
Sadly, what will take many Christians to hell is not that they live in bogus sins like adultery, fraud, drunkenness and so on, but because they live in unforgiveness. It is clear from the scriptures that our forgiveness is tied to our forgiving others. Who would think that issues like unforgiveness will take a man to hell? But the condition of heaven is fixed, no impurity will ever enter heaven.
The Bible says that a man is blessed when His sins are forgiven and His iniquity are covered. But if such refuse to forgive another, he forfeits his right to that blessedness and will be attracting a curse into his life.
Beloved, if you are serious about going to heaven, you must deal with that unforgiveness. Lay everything before the Lord today and ask God to help you to forgive that person or persons you have kept in your mind today.
REFLECTION
Just as God forgives us unconditionally, always forgive those who offend you.
PRAYER
Father, I receive grace to forgive unconditionally from today.
