Not Everyone Will Make It

Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

Matthew 7:22 NKJV

MESSAGE

When it comes to the subject of heaven and eternity, one scary truth is that not everyone will make it in the end. The words of the Lord particularly point to the fact that even among those who have believed, only a few will enter in the end.

When Jesus gave us the parable of the 10 virgins in (Matthews 25:1-12), He told us that only 5 i.e. fifty percent made it in with the bridegroom, and the rest were shut out. One prayer you must sincerely cry out of your heart is that of Apostle Paul’s desire, “Lest by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway (1 Corinthians 9:27).

We already know that the way is narrow and only a few will find it, but among the few, it is those who endure till the end that will be saved (Matthew 24:13). That is why I pity those who have fallen into the error of eternal security which teaches that once a person is saved, such is forever saved.

No one is eternally secured until he has followed peace with all men and lived a holy life. Apart from this, no one can see God (Hebrews 12:14). Although we live in a time when holiness seems to be out of fashion, Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
II Timothy 2:19 NKJV

The Lord Jesus said that those who do not do the will of God are not His own. Even if such have done miracles, healed the sick and perform diverse signs and wonders in His name. He will say to them on that final day, “I don’t know you, you lived in sin”.

That is why you cannot judge your life or that of others based on activities and services rendered for God. Let us not forget that Judas Iscariot was part of the 12 Apostles, he even did miracles and cast out devils in the name of Jesus with the rest, but he was eternally lost because of sin.

Let no man deceive you, except a man lives a holy life and walks with God till the end, such will not make it to that heavenly Jerusalem. We must also ask God for grace to make it and on our part work out our salvation with fear and trembling every passing day.

Our daily consecrations and devotions must not be ignored. By so doing, you can guarantee that by God’s grace you will also be a part of those who finished on High with a shout of Praise!

REFLECTION

“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

Matthew 25:11-12 NKJV

It is high time we take our Christian race with all seriousness and a high level of preparedness for the rapture of the saints.

PRAYER

Father, Please help me to be always ready for the coming of the Lord and give me the grace to make it last.
