MESSAGE

God’s word is explicit and clear when it comes to the subject of eternity with God – the final destination of each soul will be determined by what sort of life they lived here. A life spent and used for God can not lack God’s eternal reward.

Even when you have used your life for God, there is a need to maintain a pure heart to see God at the end of your race here on earth. It is very clear from the scriptures that without holiness, no one will be able to see God. God is Holy and dwells in holiness. He is of a pure eye that He cannot behold sin (Habakkuk 1:13).

Therefore as God who has called us is Holy, so must we also be holy in all manner of conversation (1 Peter 1:15). God’s expectations over lives are that we maintain a life beyond reproach. You will also have no excuse because men like Enoch walked with God and He was not because God took him (Genesis 5:24).

Believers who missed heaven will be most miserable because all consecrations and sacrifices will only be a waste in the end.

The Bible says that a Christian who will make it to heaven in the end must fulfil some of 1the following conditions. Such must walk uprightly, he must always speak the truth. The person must not be a back-biter; he must also not be among people who accept bribes.

In summary, he must have a pure heart. Our text of the day says that a believer whose heart is pure will see the Lord. Do you want to see the Lord at last? Do you want to be in heaven? If yes, you must clear your heart of every impurity. No impure thought must be allowed in your life. You must constantly guard your heart in the paths of righteousness.

Those who call themselves Christians and flirt with immoral thoughts, and secretly feed their minds with sinful desires are doing themselves great injustice.

God loves us so much and He wants to see us in heaven one day. We must also fulfil the condition required to make it. Those who have the hope of seeing the Lord again must purify themselves even as Christ is pure.

REFLECTION

Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.

Psalms 24:3-4 NKJV

Without purity of heart, forget about seeing the Lord. This purity of heart begins when a person surrenders his or her life to Christ and is saved from sin.

PRAYER

Father, Please help me to guard my heart against all forms of impure thoughts from today.
