MESSAGE
The last two and half years have been a year of global crisis as the pandemic-hit world is still struggling to recover from the devastating blow dealt to her. Apart from the many people who died as a direct result of the pandemic, many more are forced to live in great financial distress.
We can say truly that these are the last days of pestilence, war, and famine. The Lord who is the alpha and omega foretold of these events more than two two thousand years ago. With the Russia invasion of Ukraine, and the deadly drought ravaging the world, there is now famine in nations just as Jesus predicted it to happen in the end times.
If there is any indicator to warn men that we are at the end of times, these events should be. God’s people are not in darkness and we are to prepare our household for the imminent coming of the Lord.
While we eagerly wait for Christ’s coming we can also rest in God’s promise to keep us in the war, pestilence, and war times. Here are some of God’s promises to hold on to in these desperate times.
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.
Psalms 91:3 NKJV
You shall laugh at destruction and famine, And you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
Job 5:22 NKJV
They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
Psalms 37:19 NKJV
There are many such promises that should keep your minds at rest knowing that God will keep you and your household from the pestilence, war, and famine that is currently sweeping through the earth today.
Sinners must repent and Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:6-7 NKJV
REFLECTION
Even though we see famine, war, and pestilence in our times, and they point us to the fact that any moment from now Jesus can come. We can also be confident that God will keep us safe.
PRAYER
Father, I receive all your promises to secure me and my family in this time of war, pestilence, and famine.
