Make God Your All

Text: Psalms 20:7 NKJV

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Psalms 20:7 NKJV

MESSAGE

Many follow or worship God today mainly because of what they hope to receive from Him. But for us, it’s beyond that. It’s serving and loving Him wholeheartedly even when there is no promise or when the promise is delayed.

How does a person get to this point of intimacy and affection for his creator that one would say with Job, even though He slays me, yet will I trust Him?

At what point does He become the object of attraction at the very core of our soul that we would rather not live than to live without Him? Many saints did touch this dimension and it became their reality. To them, God was their all, and if you must take Him off their lives, you must be willing to take their lives as well.

Of such men was Paul the Apostle, who boldly claimed that nothing could ever separate him from the love of God. He was persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38‭-‬39 KJV

David also came to that point in his life when God was his all. He would rather be a doorkeeper in His house than dwell in the tenth with wicked men. A day in God’s house was better than a thousand he said. Nothing could satisfy him, No, not his wealth, throne, women, or fame. David was all out for God because God was his all.

Beloved, do you wonder why God was all out for David? Do you wonder why God blessed him so much and gave him an everlasting covenant? Do you want God to treat you also in a similar way? The secret was in the life David lived, a life sold out to God which never lacks the presence of God.

Take your eyes off those things that you pride yourself in and all God to be your all. You cannot go higher than where God placed you. Men who made God their all became successful and did great exploits for God and humanity.

Make God your all and you will save yourself a lot of worries about things that God can cover for you.

REFLECTION

Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.

Psalms 73:25 NKJV

Following God for me is plan A and there is no plan B, it’s the only plan. What about you?

PRAYER

Father, please help me to completely turn over everything in my life to you this day. Amen.
