MESSAGE
Men and women who have touched the height of God’s grace are those who never settle for the less. I have heard a great man of God share the testimony of how he told God that he does not want to be an ordinary pastor. He wanted God’s anointing and power. That man of God is more than 80 years old today and still walking in the supernatural.
Men in the world have paid a serious price to get the things they desired, but ours was paid already 2000 thousand years ago by the selfless sacrifice of Christ. God want to give us these things but we must ask. We can take great courage in the fact that He did not withhold His Son but freely gave Him up for our sins. Certainly, He will not deny us anything we desire according to His will.
If you are okay the way you are, God will not force anything on you that you don’t want. The Bible is full of stories of men and women who were not satisfied with empty religion or status quo. Such a man is Caleb who at 85 was asking for a mountain to conquer. While other men could have asked for the plain, Caleb chose the mountain (Joshua 14:10-15).
Today we want to look closely at the life of Moses to see how his strong desire for more of God led him to touch a very high dimension of God’s power. In Exodus 32, Israel has sinned against God and He was angry with them. God said he would not go with them again but He would send an Angel with them. Moses stood before God and would not settle for an Angel.
While other men would have settled for an Angel, Moses got God Himself to go with them because he desired more. Moses pressed for another request to see God’s glory. He wanted everything any man can get in God and he got it. Later in Exodus 34, we saw God come down to reveal Himself to the man Moses. God can do more for you also if you dare thirst and hunger for more of Him.
Beloved, do not settle for less, God wants to empower us and give us strength to be holy and righteous, he also wants to bless us materially, but if you are okay with the way you are, then you have limited yourself. Be desperate for those things that are His will for your life.
The Lord Jesus in one of His final charges told us we can do more. Apart from the promise that we will be able to heal the sick, cast out devils, perform miracles and so on. He said: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
John 14:12 NKJV
Do you want to do more for God? Aim for more, and ultimately pay the price for more. Study the Bible, Pray, Fast, Obey His instructions and very soon you will go higher in God.
REFLECTION
If you don’t want to settle for less, seriously cry to God today, “show me your glory that I may know You”.
PRAYER
Father, please show me Your glory today and let me know You intimately.
