Hide not thy face far from me; Put not thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; Leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

Psalms 27:9 NKJV

MESSAGE

When God decides to leave a man alone, the end of such a person is worst than the beginning. That person would continue to live in regrets and wish he had not violated God’s precept.

Even though God has promised never to leave nor forsake you, you also must be very careful not to go against His will. Sin will only turn his face away from you so that He will not hear you when you cry to Him for help. Do your best always to stay within the confines of God’s will for your life.

Consider Samson in the book of Judges 16, when he continued to live carelessly in sin, the spirit of God left him. He lost his anointing and ended up becoming an entertainment to his enemies. The later end of Samson was worse, he died in the camp of his enemies. May God not withdraw His grace and mercy from your life in Jesus’ name.

David in our text of the day knew the danger of God leaving a man alone, so he begged the Lord never to leave him nor forsake him. David saw his predecessor, King Saul, a once anointed man of God become a lunatic king because the spirit of God left him. The end of life of Saul was also miserable, he also died a wounded man at the hands of his enemies (1 Samuel 31:1-6).

Also when Ephraim clave to Idols, God left him alone and the later end of Ephraim was worse. We must truly fear lest we lose the presence of God and be left at the mercy of men. It’s better to lose the whole world than to lose his presence.

No matter what challenges you are going through, don’t allow sin into your life child of God. God will come through for you. One thing is also certain, if God is with you, you will have peace and assurance that all will be well.

The end matters the most, do all you can to continue till the end. You who have been saved and anointed by God must take heed. Stay through to your convictions and live holy everyday of your life.

REFLECTION

Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 31:20 KJV

Even if you have trespassed and lost the presence of God in your life, call unto Him today. Our God is merciful and He will restore to you the joy of salvation.

PRAYER

Father, please dont ever leave me alone to myself. Help me to always please you.
