MESSAGE
Unbelief is one of the biggest reasons why men do not get saved. It is the last barrier that must be broken down by completely trusting in the merit of the blood of Jesus Christ.
Without faith, it is impossible to please God, so also it is impossible to be saved from sin without absolute faith in Christ. Anyone who will truly experience pardon for sin from God must believe that God can truly save them from sin.
Anyone who is still sceptical about forgiveness of his sin will not obtain mercy. Unbelief will disqualify such. James 1:5-6 says that anyone who needs wisdom can receive it only if such will ask in faith. In verse 17, the Bible says a double-minded person will not receive anything (including salvation) from the Lord.
God can and wants to change the status of sinners to saints, but such praying for salvation must believe. Don’t entertain fear in your heart even when the devil comes to tell you your sins are too many for Jesus to forgive. Simply trust in the faithfulness of God that never fails.
In our reading of the day the Bible referred to the event in Numbers 21, how only those who have faith and looked at the bronze serpent were saved. In Mark 16:16, the Bible says that those who believe in Christ will be saved but those who do not believe shall be damned.
Sinners seeking God’s pardon must first trust in God’s faithfulness to forgive their sins, and then in that full faith thrust themselves to God for mercy. Do you believe that you can be saved from your sins also? Then, place all your faith in Him and you will see Him work out His salvation in your life.
Acts 13:39 says,
and by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Faith holds the final key to salvation, therefore you must put a hundred per cent confidence in the power of Christ to save you.
REFLECTION
Faith produces salvation and it is God’s gift to those who believe in the merit of the sacrifice of Christ. We are saved by grace through faith.
PRAYER
Father, I trust in the merit of the blood of Jesus Christ, please, let it avail for me today and always.
