God’s Trust

Text: Job 1:8 NKJV

Further Reading: Job 1:6-12

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”

Job 1:8 NKJV

MESSAGE

Can God trust a man? David was quick to ask the obvious question as to why God will be mindful of we mortal men (Psalms 8:4). Yet we find God trusting men.

Today we will look at God’s trust over a man’s life. Everything that God gives a man is based on trust. His expectation is that man will be profitable with the talents He has given to Him. The Parable of the talent is a typical show of this trust. In the same light, God has great expectations over your life.

You are saved to save others. Your salvation is a trust. The word of God says that God is glorified when you bring forth fruit (John 15:8). Are you making heaven happy or you are failing?

We have seen God trust men in the Bible and it is because of their faithfulness in all of God’s business. One such man was Samuel who walked with God so faithfully that God entrusted Him with the role of Prophet, Priest, and Judge.

Another man was Abraham. In Genesis 18, God said concerning Abraham, And the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”
Genesis 18:17‭-‬19 NKJV.

In our text and reading of the day, we saw God confidently trusting Job. God was so sure of Job’s devotion and commitment to Him. Even when the devil said otherwise, God trusted Job. These men were faithful and thus they earned heaven’s trust.

Can God trust you? It is only when you are faithful in what He has committed into your hands that He can trust you. Are you slothful in His business? That attitude never earns His trust.

Make up your mind today to be faithful in all that the Lord will be asking you today. There is no greater honor than for God to trust a man. He can also trust you provided you remain faithful to Him.

REFLECTION

Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

Luke 16:11 KJV

Your level of faithfulness will determine the extent to which God trusts you. So, be faithful.

PRAYER

Father, please help me to be faithful in my pursuit of You and Your kingdom.
