MESSAGE
It is easy to be running around for the things of God and not know God. It is possible to preach the word of God and not know the God of the word. It is very possible to use the name of Christ to perform miracles and not be known of Him. In Matthews 7:21-23, the Lord says that some will come to Him on that day saying, we did miracles and even cast out devils in your name, but He will say to them, I don’t know you, depart from me because you lived in sin.
If there is any priority in your life, it must be the cry of Moses, “Show me now your glory” (Exodus 33:13). It must be a tireless pursuit to know God and to be known by God. In Psalms 103:7, the Bible recorded that God honored the request of Moses. He made known His ways unto Moses but to the children of Israel, they only knew His acts.
We are praying that this message will drive you to desire a more intimate relationship with God. In case you are asking, why should I know God for myself? Here are some of the few reasons why you must know God for yourself.
Many false prophets are out there deceiving many, and only those who know God will not be carried away by false doctrines. Jesus said in John 10, that if you are His sheep, you will know His voice, and the voice of the strangers you will not hear. In Daniel 11:32, the Bible further says that in other not to be corrupted by the flatteries of this end time, you must know your God so that you will be strong and do exploit.
Another reason why you must know God for yourself is so that you correct and help many to find Him. You cannot give what you don’t have and you can not say beyond what you know about someone. So, the more you know God and His ways, the easier for you to bring others to Christ.
Finally, your knowledge of God will save you from destruction. In Hosea 4:6, God said,
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6 KJV
Beloved, nothing must be desired above knowing God for yourself, stop waiting for men to teach you about God when He has opened His arms to you. He wants a personal and intimate relationship with you. Don’t keep Him waiting.
