MESSAGE
For the almighty God to say something is not good, then we must pay close attention to that thing and follow God’s provision to solve the problem. We can express that statement in our text of the day as this, “It is problematic for a man to be alone”. It is as though, there is an incompleteness in a man who is alone, even if that man is highly skilled, gifted, and talented, still it is not good for him to be alone.
Alone in this context is not a want of pets and a person of the same gender but a female companion to help him fulfill in life and ministry. Some today in the west may try to find completeness in their pets, friends, and family, but still, they find themselves to be alone.
This alone can be described as a great weakness as we would see God’s answer to the problem. God made the woman out of the man to help complement him. She was to help him in life and in achieving God’s purpose for his life. So, God instituted marriage between a man and a woman. Again we must repeat that marriage is between a man and a woman. And for those who can not define who a man or woman is, such people need not think of marriage from God’s perspective.
So why is it not good for a man or woman to be alone? Because the Bible says, one will chase a thousand, but two will put ten thousand to flight. When two people who are married in God’s will team up, they become more successful and extend God’s purpose on earth. It is true that when two people work on a project, they do it faster and better as long as they sync together. If of marriageable age and you want to truly put more enemies of God to flight, then you must choose a wife or husband under God’s guidance.
Another reason is that there is a reward for their labor. What this means is that both of them can enjoy the reward for their labor. They can help each other grow and support each other’s weaknesses. If one falls, the other can raise the fellow (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).
Finally, families who are united produce the best offspring. That is why the enemy is fighting Christian marriages and families. When you come together with your spouse the Bible says that God is seeking Godly offspring (Malachi 2:15). These are the ones the Bible called arrows in God’s hand. With such godly children, God will destroy every agenda of the wicked (Psalms 127:3-5).
Therefore, be intentional about who to marry by praying for God’s will for you in marriage. He will answer you and give you the bone of your bone and the flesh of your flesh.
REFLECTION
Marriage is an advantage, it is beautifully designed by God to help you fulfill His purpose for your life. Therefore, if you are of eligible age, seek God’s face for His choice for your life.
PRAYER
Father, please chose and marry for every one of our youths who are eligible for marriage. Also, let your peace and love rest upon every Christian home. Amen
