Then the Lord said to me, “Even if Moses and Samuel stood before Me, My mind would not be favorable toward this people. Cast them out of My sight, and let them go forth.

MESSAGE

In every generation, God often raises men to teach others that we can follow Him dutifully and faithfully without faltering. A man like Enoch remains a challenge to everyone in every generation that a man can walk faultlessly with God and land in glory.

Do you know that Enoch had no Bible, no Pastor, no Church, and no Christian literature and audio, yet he had the testimony that he walked with God and pleased God in his generation. He is also in the cloud of witness today, telling us that we can also walk with God.

Our text of the day also spoke about the man Samuel who won the heart of God also for his faithfulness. Despite that, Samuel grew up among the corrupt children of the priest, yet he chose to be different, he stood right for God. His life should challenge us compromising Christians who put all the blame for our failure on the corrupt world system.

Samuel is a Model to us that we can live in the world and not be contaminated by the world. Samuel grew up before the Lord and finished his ministry on a high. Toward the end of his life, he made these bold claims:

Here I am. Witness against me before the Lord and before His anointed: Whose ox have I taken, or whose donkey have I taken, or whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed, or from whose hand have I received any bribe with which to blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.” And they said, “You have not cheated us or oppressed us, nor have you taken anything from any man’s hand.” I Samuel 12:3‭-‬4 NKJV

No wonder our text of the day described him as a righteous man whose righteousness can save. Can God boast of your faithfulness and righteousness? Samuel stood out in his generation such that we are being challenged by his life.

Finally, Samuel showed us that one can be righteous from childhood till old age. Study the life of this man of God and be inspired.

REFLECTION

For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”

Genesis 18:19 NKJV

Parents should raise their children in the ways of the Lord and teach them the fear of the Lord. It will keep them from sinning against God.

PRAYER

Father, please help our parents to nurture their children in the ways and fear of the Lord. Please keep me from sinning against you.
