MESSAGE

The natural can not please God, Paul reechoed this truth in 1 Corinthians 2:14-16 thus:

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

In truth, before God can deal with any man on a personal level, He changes his heart. The default sinful heart is called the stony heart (Ezekiel 36:26-27). This default heart is what we all came with. You can hear David bemoan the outward manifestation of this nature as sinful (Psalms 51:5).

Only those who come to Jesus get a heart recreation. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that when a man becomes saved, he is a new creature. This means that the fellow now has a new heart called the “heart of flesh or the mind of Christ”. This is what makes the new creation man able to do the will of God.

Sinners will continue to find the will of God difficult because it may look foolish to them. It will be difficult for them to see the wisdom of God because as the Bible says, their heart has been darkened and they are blind to the reality of the things of God.

In our text and reading of the day, you will notice that God had to change the heart of Saul before he made him king of Israel. Likewise, God changed the heart of Saul of Tarsus before making him an Apostle to the Gentiles. This shows that God can not have a personal relationship with anyone who still has the old sinful heart.

He wants to give you a new one. Are you still living in sin and you enjoy it, then you must cry to God for a new heart today. Those who truly want to please their maker must come to God through His Son Jesus and cry to Him for a heart today.

All you need to do is believe in the Lord Jesus, confess, and repent of all known sins. You can then ask the Lord to come into your heart. Never forget this, “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  Romans 10:8‭-‬9 NKJV

Have you believed in Christ for yourself, if not, ask Him to come into your heart and give you a new heart

REFLECTION

And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

Deuteronomy 30:6 NKJV

Ask the Lord to please circumcise your heart today through His word. Also, be intentional about following Christ. You can make your peace with God by giving your life to Jesus Christ today.

Father, please circumcise my heart through your word today in Jesus’ name. Amen.
