Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

John 16:7 NKJV

MESSAGE

The greatest blessing that God gave us after salvation is the Holy Spirit. Jesus knew that we would not be able to survive in this world filled with devils and evil, so He prayed that the Father will send us the Spirit of Truth.

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— John 14:16 NKJV

This shows the depth of Christ’s love for us. He did not only die for us but also saw to it that we are kept in the Father’s will by giving us the Holy Spirit. Have you thanked Him for this?

The Lord said, He would not leave us as orphans but will constantly abide with us through the Holy Spirit. He gave us the Holy Spirit so that we go through life without being harassed by the enemy of our souls. Even when the enemy would come in like a flood, the Holy Spirit will raise a mighty standard against him (Isaiah 59:19).

We also know that the Holy Spirit will be with us and comfort us. He will guide and lead us into all truth. Should we not thank Jesus for this great Helper He has given us? I can boldly say that after salvation, the greatest gift I have ever received personally from God is the gift of the Holy Spirit. For this reason, I say, thank you, Jesus. What about you?

The Holy Spirit also helps destroy the evil spirit of fear by giving us love, power, and a sound mind. We also know that the Holy Spirit is our seal. He is also the Spirit of adoption who bears witness with our spirits that we are God’s children (Romans 8:15-16).

Even though there are other blessings that the Holy Spirit gives the believer, we must mention the fact that through Him we bear quality fruits that gives us Christ-like characters (Galatians 5:22-23). The Holy Spirit also gives us power and gifts to serve God and confront the devil (Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11). What a marvelous privilege that we have to be God’s children who have been given the blessing of the Holy Spirit through Christ our Lord.

Finally, you must thank Jesus because the Holy Spirit helps you pray.
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26‭-‬27 NKJV

Thank Jesus for the Holy Spirit today!

REFLECTION

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

John 14:26 NKJV

Do you thank God for giving you the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and help you in this journey of life or you are simply taking all His help for granted? You must have a change of mind today by thanking Jesus for the perfect gift of the Holy Spirit to you.

PRAYER

Jesus, I thank you for giving me the Holy Spirit.
