Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7:25 NKJV
MESSAGE
While Jesus was on earth, He spent a great deal of time praying. The Bible says while it is yet dark early in the morning, Jesus would go apart to pray alone. Prayer was the secrete of Jesus’ success in fulfilling God’s will. But was it that Jesus prayed for Himself and His ministry only? No, Jesus prayed and He is still praying for you.
Luke 22:31-32, Jesus gave a divine revelation about His attitude to praying for His followers. Peter was about getting caught up in a very irreversible damning denial of Jesus. He was going to lose his faith and deny Jesus for temporary gain, but Jesus said, I have prayed for your restoration. Jesus prayed for Peter even before he as ever tempted, that is the heart of the master.
One would say but that was Peter, well Jesus prayed for you even before you ever came to know Him. In John 17:20, the Lord said, I am not praying only for my disciples alone but for them that will believe their testimony about me. If you are a true follower of Christ, then you were also included in the prayer of Jesus.
Our text of the day says that Jesus lives forever to pray for you and me. This is so thrilling to know. The fact that Jesus is not sitting and partying in heaven but is praying constantly for me is amazing. It is worth saying thank you to Him. By the prayers of Jesus, I know I can pray and God will answer.
Even when I can not pray, the advocate (The Holy Spirit) prays for me, prays in me, and prays through me. Praise the Lord!
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27 NKJV
Thank Jesus today because of His ceaseless intercession that has kept you from evil and granted you access into the will of God.
REFLECTION
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Romans 8:34 NKJV
Jesus is the greatest intercessor ever, and He is still praying for you. Thank Him with all your heart for this.
PRAYER
Thank you Jesus for continually interceding for me and my family.
