MESSAGE
Anxiety is one of the biggest issues in our society today. It is both physically and mentally challenging. In the present-day economic woes, the level of anxiety has spiked because people are now worried about what they would eat, drink and wear.
The truth is that life challenges will want to cause you to worry, but the Bible says, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Philippians 4:6 NKJV
Scripture further says that believers should cast their cares upon Christ. They must lay their burdens at Christ’s feet. The result is that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 NKJV
Jesus never wanted believers to worry even in the face of obvious persecution and challenges. He showed us that we are of more value than everything that was made. God places huge priority upon your life to the point that He numbers the very hair on your head.
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:30-31 NKJV
In our text and reading of the day, the Lord spelt it clearly that worry solves no problems. It won’t add to your life, so He asked the obvious question, “Why Worry?”. God does not want you to worry about the things you can’t change or control but He wants you to trust Him with all your cares. The Bible says that you can cast all your cares upon Him (God) because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Remember, every day has its evil and worry will not solve any problems, therefore spend your time seeking God’s kingdom and He will sort out every other thing.
REFLECTION
Be ready for the coming of the Lord. Don’t allow the cares of this world to rob you of your eternal treasure. Don’t worry, simply pray.
