He Chose You 1

Text: John 15:16 NKJV

Further Reading: Luke 6:12-13

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

John 15:16 NKJV

MESSAGE

Many live today as if everything they have become is because of their power. They quickly forget that it is God who gives power to make wealth. Believers however should not take such a high road. At every point in your life you must always remember that you are not of your own self, you were bought with a huge price.

Jesus told His disciples in our text of the day not to think that they made a voluntary choice to follow Christ but that He chose them instead. Even your salvation is not of your own but it is God’s gift (Ephesians 2:8-9). Jesus made this even clearer when He said,

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day (John 6:44 NKJV). He further said in John 12:32 that when He is lifted up to heaven, He will draw all men to Himself.

Whatever opportunity you have to serve God therefore is a privilege. Everything you have received was freely given. It was Christ who took you out sin and the bondage of satan and transformed your life. This is because you are chosen.

In Deuteronomy 7:6 the Bible says, “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth”. To Better put it 1 Peter 2:9 says that you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
I Peter 2:9 NKJV

You are chosen by God to shine the light of the gospel.  You are saved to represent God on the face of the earth. How are you fulfilling the purspose for which God chose to save you? Are you all out telling others about the one who chose you?

No matter how successful you may think you are, if you are not fulfilling the purpose for which Christ chose you, then you will never br fulfilled. You must go back to God today and ask Him to help you to be a Christian that bears abiding fruits.

REFLECTION

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.

Ephesians 1:4 NKJV

God chose you in Him before the earth was made so that you can separate unto Him. This not because of what you did but His grace. No day should go by without banking God for choosing you.

PRAYER

Father, I think you for choosing me for a great purpose, please help me to fulfill Your divine purpose. Amen
