MESSAGE

Everyone is at least born with a life. Generally, all men are born with a sinful old nature that is incapable of doing good. This nature is so bad that people tend to normalize its because they lack control over it.

Many individuals have tried several ways and methods to get rid of this life since it comes with great consequences. Think about the person who drinks and smokes, this fellow knows that the life he is living is a death trap, and he knows that sooner than later he will become damaged by the substance he consumes. In his best power, he then tries to stop them but finds himself to be enslaved by these lifestyles. He also knows in his heart that the wages of sin are death, therefore, such behavior will land him in hell.

Just as a leopard can not change the spots on his skin, so also can no man save himself from sin (Jeremiah 13:23). Only the blood of Jesus can.

What such a person needs is not a personal reform but a new life that only God can give through Christ (Romans 6:23).

To give the context, every human born of man inherited the fallen sinful Adamic nature which attracts divine punishment. Yet, this nature which is the default nature begins to dominate the heart and life of man. You can see why you do what you do.

Some of the attributes of the old nature are adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19‭-‬21 NKJV

Until a man comes to Jesus, he can never be a possessor of the nature of God. That is why the Bible says that only those who believe in Christ will have eternal. God wants you to have a new life, but not until you have come to Him under His terms.

Believers who have received this new life must continue to work out their salvation with fear and trembling.

REFLECTION

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.

Galatians 6:15 NKJV

Christ gives new life to those who accept Him. With this package comes a new creation man which is victorious over sin.

PRAYER

Father, please give me a new life in Christ that is victorious over sin, the world, and the devil.
