MESSAGE

In traditional warfare, defense and attack play a major role in determining if an army will lose or win. Victory over the enemy is dependent on both tactical modes. While the defense weapon of the Christian’s warfare may protect him from the enemy attack, it is the offensive weapons that will push back the enemy and drive him to victory.

Today, we will look at such an offensive weapon of warfare, which is “Evangelism”. Our text of the day says that Christian soldiers must launch an all-out attack to depopulate the kingdom of darkness and crush all his strongholds by preaching the gospel.

The devil keeps men bound and blind from seeing the truth of the gospel, but when you as a soldier of Jesus go out there in the power of Christ, you not only be winning the souls of men away from the kingdom of darkness, but you will also be setting them free from the powers of the devil.

Part of the things that Jesus said you will be doing as recorded in Mark 16:15-17  is healing the sick, casting out devils, speaking with new tongues, and so on. All these will do great damage to the enemy’s network. The devil is in big trouble when Christ’s soldiers intensify their evangelistic drive.

When you go out in the power of Christ in preaching the gospel, signs and wonders will be following. While there will be joy in heaven, the kingdom of darkness is being rendered useless. Praise God for the power in the gospel to save men from sin and captivity of the devil. However, until you go out to preach, the power of the gospel is rendered ineffective and void of its value.

Are you an active soul winner? Are you going after the souls of men and releasing satan’s captives? This is the great mission that Christ has commissioned us into and you must obey it. Never forget that there is great blessings when you obey this commission as well. Jesus said when you go out to bring in more souls, you will ask God anything and you will get it (John 15:16).

Nothing makes the devil more angry than a persistent and passionate soldier of Christ who is going after the souls of men.

REFLECTION

And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

Go all out on the offensive against the enemy by passionately sharing the gospel.

PRAYER

Father, please give me the grace and strength needed to share the gospel as a good soldier of Christ.
