MESSAGE

The head is one of the most important parts of the human body. It is a house to some of the most important body parts. It will intrigue you that all the sense organs are found in the head. To cap it all, the head houses the brain which coordinates every other activity of the body. The head gives direction to every other part of the body, if anything goes wrong with the head, other parts are in serious trouble. This is how important the head is.

In the spiritual context, the head is equally important. Whenever the devil wants to finish a people, he targets their head. There are countless examples in the Bible to prove this point. All the devil had to capture Israel was to capture Samson their warrior and judge. It is that simple.

The attack on fathers as you see today is another way to look at it. Do you wonder why families are scattered? It is because the devil went for the heads (fathers). As Jesus puts it, smite the shepherd, and the sheep will scatter (Matthew 26:31).

In spiritual warfare against the enemy, the soldier of Christ must protect his head by wearing the helmet of salvation. Grace is a covering over the believer’s life. Those who are in Christ have Jesus as their head, so they are protected from any arrow of the enemy.

The head is also for anointing – because the soldier of Christ loves righteousness and hates sin, God anoints his head above his fellow (Hebrews 1:9). That was what David had, he was anointed and had God as his salvation. No wonder David was able to slay the enemy.

Do you notice that the stone from David’s sling went straight into Goliath’s head? Though Goliath was heavily guarded with a helmet, he died because Jesus was not his salvation. The enemy does not have Christ to cover him.

Beloved, as a soldier of Christ who has received an abundance of grace, please stay away from anything that will rob you of your salvation. Do not venture into anything that will remove the helmet from your head and make you vulnerable to the enemy’s attack.

Are you born again? If you are not, then you are walking about unprotected and could be a victim of the devil’s wicked arrows. Make a choice for Christ today.

REFLECTION

But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.

1 Thessalonian 5:8 NKJV

Do all you can not to put off your helmet of salvation. Stay connected to Jesus and your victory over the enemy is guaranteed.

PRAYER

Father, please keep my feet from falling and losing my helmet of salvation.
