MESSAGE

Many Christians claim to be convinced of their profession of faith but when little problems come, they deny the faith. They suddenly change their words and allegiance so as to escape suffering or persecution.

You must understand that an untested faith can never be trusted. God is looking for a man who He can trust, but this man must be tested and found faithful. The reason why God could confidently vouch for Abraham and call him his friend was because Abraham’s faith has been tested and found true.

Many times God allows storms to come to our lives to check if we truly trust and believe in Him. Did you notice that what Jesus demanded from the disciples in our test and reading of the day was faith? He asked them, “Where is your faith?”.

What the Lord was simply saying was that despite Him being with them, why don’t they believe? Many today believe in God only when things are good but when things go south, they quickly change and reject Him.

Who is Jesus to you when the storms arise? Is He the same Lord as He was when all is well? Note that storms are to try your faith and it is only when you have passed through the storm believing that God will bring you into His good (1 Peter 1:7).

Believers can also view storms as a way to experience divine interventions that may not be otherwise available. Are you firmly fitted on Christ the solid rock? many great men and women have gone through storms and their testimony is that God is faithful to be with you when you go through the waters and fires.

Guard your faith Jealously because the enemy also launches ferocious storms in order to sweep believers off their conviction for Christ. You must stand your ground and say confidently with Paul the Apostle:

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
II Timothy 1:12 NKJV

REFLECTION

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Romans 8:35 NKJV

Do you know Him? Will any storm of life separate you from His love? Think about it!

PRAYER
