Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Ephesians 6:10 NKJV

MESSAGE

Today we want to look at the believer’s source of strength and why we must constantly look to that source other than ourselves. It is important to know that the natural tendency of man is there to want to look to himself instead of looking up to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Those who think they are self-sufficient will find themselves a continuous victim in the hands of the devil. The enemy will continue to pull such fellows down and they will never attain true freedom found in Christ.

One truth that must not escape our minds is that Jesus is the source of our strength. He is the Vine from who we derive our strength and through Him, we can stay strong to confront the enemy at every junction of our lives (John 15:4-5). Notice that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and power and rulers of the darkness of this world and a host of bad demons in high places (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). Do we now fight these entities by our own strength?

Never! He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. “For by strength no man shall prevail.
I Samuel 2:9 NKJV.

Those who plan to do anything by their strength will never succeed. If you have been going about trying to fight your battles with your wisdom and strenght, you will only find yourself in big trouble.

In our text and reading of the day, we are admonished to make Christ the source of our strength. We must be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. This is because the Lord is a man of war; The Lord is His name.
Exodus 15:3 NKJV

Also, Jesus has all the power in the heavens and earth, therefore we must constantly tap into His endless power to win our everyday battles of life.  Stop trust trusting in your power if you really want to win against the enemy of the soul.

REFLECTION

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

2 Corinthians 3:5 NKJV

Victory is in Christ, if you will tap into His endless strenght win your everyday battle of life. You are guaranteed victory in Christ if you make Him your only source of strenght.

PRAYER

Father, please help me never to look to myself but to Jesus the source of my strength.
