Dealing With Storms 4

Text: Matthew 7:24-25

Further Reading: Matthew 7:24-27

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

Matthew 7:24-25 NKJV

MESSAGE

The storms are inevitable. They will certainly come. No one whether they are believers or not is exempted from facing the storms of life. The only difference is that one is built on the Christ the solid rock and the other sand.

Have you noticed that whether it is financial, educational, or career storms no category of persons is spared? They don’t lay people off only because they are Christians or non-Christians in ideal cases but because the company may need to downsize.

What you build your life upon will determine whether you will be able to stand the test of time or will fall apart before your time. There is no better way to prepare for the storm than to have Jesus with you on the journey of life.

While Paul was on his way to Rome and the storms came, the Bible recorded that Christ was with him in the storms. While other people were panicking and afraid, he was calm and relaxed. That storm hit the strongest and bravest of armies and they shrank but Paul stood courageous.

Only one thing could produce that courage, and it is the assurance of the presence of God. Our text and reading of the day showed us that we must expect the storms to hit but if we have the word of God, we can rest assured that we will not fall.

Do you have the word of God for that journey you are currently embarking upon? The word of God is our insurance against the storm of life. It is the anchor with which you can hold God and remind Him of His promises. The truth is that in the word of God is great safety.

Upon what are you taking the journey of life? Those who are outside Christ are the most unfortunate because they will never be to survive the turbulent storms of the enemy, but Christ in us is beyond a stiller of storms but the hope of our glory.

REFLECTION

If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?

Psalms 11:3 NKJV

Those who have built their lives on the wrong foundation must run to Jesus today or else they will not be able to face the storms of life that comes their ways.

PRAYER

Father, please help me to always do your will per time. Take me out of every stormy water in Jesus’ name. Amen
