1 John 3:3 NKJV

MESSAGE

One thing about God is that He will never give room for any man to either glory in His presence or fault Him. In redeeming us God has done everything He could to save us from sin. We were saved not by merit but by His grace (Ephesians 2:8).

God went further by making provision for our sanctification through the blood of Jesus and the word of God.

Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
Hebrews 13:12 NKJV

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
John 17:17 NKJV

God went further by promising and giving the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 3:11; John 14:16; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4).

Finally, He promised to come again to receive us to heaven (John 14:1-3).

God has done this much for us. Therefore, no man will have an excuse for missing any of God’s benefits. After we have received all these blessings we now have a duty. That duty is found in our text of the day. We must keep ourselves pure.

This will be done by us, God has done His part. We are responsible for deciding not to fornicate or commit adultery or look with lust at a person. We are responsible to see to it that our heart is fed by the cleansing word of God. We are responsible to apply the burning fire of prayer to cleanse our lives.

REFLECTION

Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

2 Timothy 2:21 NKJV

It is your responsibility to cleanse yourself by submerging yourself in God’s word.

PRAYER

Father, please help me purify myself by your word.
