MESSAGE
Today we will continue our study about the end of times. But we will be looking closely at what Jesus meant by the “Beginning of Sorrow” as we read in our text of the day.
One will be curious to check what those which the Bible called the beginning of sorrows were. In reality, they were a big deal but Jesus said that we Christians are to be held to a far higher standard. We saw war, rumors of war, famine, and pestilence like covid-19, yet the Lord said they were the beginning of sorrow.
Again, we know that these were real issues and many faithful Christians have lost friends or families to senseless wars happening all over the world. Many others saw their loved ones slip off into death during the pandemic. Yet the Bible called those events light affection which will work for us far better eternal weight of glory.
Already we live in a world where so many are living in sorrow but there seems to be something far worse coming. Although we are not to br afraid, Jesus wants us to be well prepared. You may say, times are hard, I agree but with this sad but true statement, “harder and tougher times are still coming”.
The question is are you ready for those days when your life will be on the line? Are you prepared for the coming persecution? Are prepared for imprisonment, to be falsely accused, and even killed. The Lord mentioned that those are the real day of sorrow.
What should your response be? It must be a serious attitude that goes beyond the surface of religion but a personal knowledge. It is the time for you to learn of Christ and be full of Christ so that you will be able to stand against all that satan is and will be throwing at you.
REFLECTION
It’s time to stop playing religion and get serious with God because only those who do will survive the many attacks of satan will be launching against them.
PRAYER
Father, please keep me strong spiritually so that I can stand firm for you against spiritual and moral behaviors that the enemy may be projecting into my life.
